Inês Paiva is a musician and teacher from Portugal. She started her music studies at Conservatório Regional Maria Campina, Faro, Portugal, when she was nine years old. Her instrument has been the flute since the very beginning of her studies, but she has since developed her piano skills and invested in her singing techniques by being part of several choirs and participating in multiple masterclasses. Her flute studies began with flautist Luís Miguel Garcia, the principal flautist of Orquestra Clássica do Sul, finishing her secondary studies at the conservatoire with flautitst João Lourenço, currently teaching at Conservatório de Música de Loulé.
After applying for her bachelor degree in 2018, she started her studies at the University of Évora, Portugal, with flautist Monika Streitová, researcher of CESEM, INET-MD and Assistant Professor of the University of Évora. During this time, she participated in several festivals, including FLAUTUÉ and FLAUTUENCONTRO, and masterclasses. She graduated in 2021, starting her master studies at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts–Lund University, Sweden, with Prof. Dr. Anders Ljungar-Chapelon. She completed her master’s degree in 2023, played with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, and since then has also concluded an Independent Course on Interpretation in 2024. Her thesis Women in music: are they absent from Western Music History? focused on women and gender equality, which she expects to develop more in the future. She is currently and actively involved in several different projects and ensembles in Malmö, like Reaktion! Ensemble, Lunae Duo, 2ofHeartsDuo, and Lumis Ensemble. At the moment, she is currently working on Women in Society and Mindful Image and Unique Beauty, which are two interdisciplinary projects. Currently, she is also teaching voice at Rockskolan (Malmö, Staffanstorp, Lund). She also teaches privately, both in person and online.
Maria Manuel Coutinho is a flutist, from Marco de Canaveses, Portugal.
Her studies went through a lot of different paths and regions but it was in "Sociedade Filarmónica Maceirense" with Sofia Silva as her teacher that she decided to follow her dream of working in the world of music. Her path continued with the Professional Course in Music in "Orfeão de Leiria" with João Pedro Fonseca as her teacher.
More recently she graduated in Music at the University of Évora with Flutist, researcher of CESEM and INET-MD and Assistant Professor Monika Streitová.
In 2023, she finished her Masters in Performance and in 2024 an Independent Course in Performance in the University of Lund - Malmö Academy of Music, in Sweden, with Prof. Dr. Anders Ljungar-Chapelon. Here she got the opportunity to play with the Malmö Opera Orchestra.
She has participated in several masterclasses, within and outside the school environment, with known national and international, flutists and maestros.
Nowadays, she is part of Lunae Duo with Inês Paiva and helps with advertising and social media for the project “Mindful Image and Unique Beauty”. She is also a part of Malmö Akademiska Orkester and continues her studies independently.
